Luther Joe Dean Garren, 90, peacefully entered into heaven on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Memory Gardens of the Valley Garden Chapel, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, Texas.
Luther was born July 29, 1935 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, son of Joseph Clyde and Willie Lois (Rogers) Garren. He was a veteran and proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force. After serving his country, he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Luther was a faithful member of First Methodist Church of Weatherford.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Luther was known to all as a kind and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed. His greatest legacy in life was the joy he found in helping others.
Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clyde Garren and Willie Lois Garren; sister, Oralean Murphy; and grandson, Chad Burt Garren.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Patricia Whited Garren; son, Joe D. Garren and wife, Cindy; grandson, Travis Joe Garren and wife, Belen; great-grandchildren, Chad Mahan Garren, and Quinn Belen Garren; sisters, Kathryn Lucas, and Patsy O’Cayce; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
