Linda was born February 3, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas to Harry Austin Johnson and Essie Merle Mizell. She was raised in Haltom City, TX with her 2 sisters, Debbie and Carol. As she was growing up, she attended Midway Baptist Church. The belief of Jesus was always a priority in their home. The music played in the home was always gospel and country music. Fond childhood memories were the long trips to East Texas to visit family while listening to gospel music in the car. Her first job, at the age of 17, was at Leonard’s Department Store in downtown Fort Worth. She went to school half the day and worked the other half, and she made $50 a week. Linda graduated from Haltom City High School in 1973. Linda and her friends danced on the weekends at Rustler’s Rest. Her daddy was a dancer so, it was in her blood. Linda loved her family, football, woodworking and attending every sporting event her family was involved in. She will be remembered most by her love for the casinos. She had a smile that would light up the room she was in and she took everyone in as if they were her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Donnie and Benny Johnson; her special aunt, Katherine Velde and her late husband, Terry Shockler. Linda is survived by her loving and caring husband of 28 years, Rex Terry; her sons, T.J. Shockler and Clay Terry; her daughter, Kim Kirby; her granddaughters, Mikaela Kirby, Avery Shockler, Caliah Terry, Riley Salazar; her grandsons, Jake Kirby and Isaac Salazar; her brother, Robert Johnson; her sisters, Debbie Dorman, Carol Womack and Susie Lindsey; her daughters-in-law, Cherry and Christina; son-in-law, James Kirby and numerous family and friends.
