Leon D. Golden, 86, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Leon D. Golden was born September 6, 1935 in Ocilla, Georgia, son of William and Ella Cox Golden. He was a retired Technical Sergeant in the Air Force and Lieutenant in the Fort Worth Police Department. Lee was a talented artist who specialized in medical illustrations and dabbled in landscapes and portraits, especially of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid golfer who played his friends for quarters, which he carried around in a sock as a trophy. Lee scored two holes in one in, his first the day before his youngest granddaughter was born! He was a lifelong learner, having earned more academic credits than most college graduates. Lee loved playing his guitar, aviation, and carpentry. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ella Mae Golden; and his brothers, Curtis Golden and Ben Golden. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rebecca Golden; and daughters, Debbie Richard and husband, Denis, and Liza McDavid and husband, Brad; and his cousin, Bill Cox; and by his grandchildren, Autumn van Wageningen, Dallas Richard, Elizabeth Davis, Roland McDavid, Hunter Jahnke, Rebecca Snider, Billy McDavid, Rachel McDavid, and Jairus McDavid; and ten great-grandchildren, including one due in October.
