Lena Meril Andrews Haynie

Lena Haynie, 87, of Weatherford and formerly of Garland passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was born Lena Meril Andrews on May 6, 1934, to Tom and Meril Andrews in Kemp, Texas. She graduated from Kemp High School in 1952. Lena met her husband, Robert, while growing up in Kemp. They married in 1954 and settled in Garland, Texas where they raised two sons. After her children were grown, Lena returned to school and earned her RN from El Centro College in Dallas in 1986. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her younger son, Bobby. She is survived by her older son, Michael and his wife, Debra, of Weatherford; her brother, Walter Andrews and his wife, Frances, of Garland; two grandsons and their wives, Jason and Stephanie Haynie, and Jame and Sara Haynie. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. A family only service is planned for Friday afternoon, February 26, 2022 at Restland Cemetery, Dallas.
