Lawrence Chance Homan

Lawrence Chance Homan, 24, beloved fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at North Pointe Baptist Church, 147 E. Hurst Blvd., Hurst.

Chance was born February 20, 2001 in Decatur, beloved son of the late Lance James Homan, and Jennifer Luree’ Grizzard Dodd.

Chance was a shooting star that wanted to be everywhere all the time. He had a smile and laugh that was contagious and made people gravitate towards him. Chance loved his family more than life and wanted only the best for them. He was taken too soon and will be missed for infinity.

Chance was preceded in death by his father, Lance James Homan; paternal grandparents, Lawrence James Homan, and Ruth Homan-Gerkovich; and maternal grandfather, Terry Lynn Chapin.

He is survived by his Fiancé, Destiny Tanay Butler; son, Zy’Aire Kylo Homan; mother, Jennifer Luree’ Dodd and her husband, George Washington Dodd, Jr.; siblings, Chelsea Gabrielle Homan, Cheyenne Francis Seitz and her husband, Darrell, Ian Patrick Dodd, Ashley Nicole Dodd, Chase Jerome Dodd, Paige Michelle Hogue, and Brittany Nicole Moore; eight nieces and nephews; eight cousins; and many other beloved family members and friends.
