La Nita Szabo

La Nita Szabo, 81, passed away peacefully Monday, July 30, 2018 in Azle. Service: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Azle Church of Christ. Interment: 2:30 P.M. at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at Azle Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in La Nita’s name to The Azle Church of Christ. La Nita was born March 13, 1937 in Itasca to Carl and Carmen Curlee Sweeney. She graduated high school in 1955, after graduation La Nita worked for the City of Fort Worth Water Department. She married the love of her life, Johnny Szabo, December 16, 1963. They settled in Azle where she retired in 2002. La Nita enjoyed cooking Hungarian dishes, looked forward to her annual class reunions and fellowship with her church family at Azle Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny; her parents; brother, Carl Sweeney, Jr.; sisters, Doris Barnes and Marie Ellison; nephews, Larry Ellison and Johnny Clay; and niece, Linda Ellison. Survivors: Nephews, Charles Ray Barnes and Wendell Ellison; nieces, Nancy Barnes, Karen Degner, Karla Clay and Ginger Tindell; numerous great nephews and nieces; special thanks to her neighbor, Alice Yates.
