Kitty LaRue Ivey, age 85. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on November 10, 2020, due to multiple chronic illnesses she had battled for many years. Visitation will be at White’s Funeral Home in Azle November 17, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM. A graveside service will follow at Ash Creek Cemetery on November 17 at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tarrant County Food Bank of Fort Worth to help tend to the needs of hungry families in need in our community. She was born on November 9, 1935 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Cecil and Effie Teague. She married her teen age sweetheart and the love of her life, James D. Ivey in July 1955. Kitty was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker her entire life and was a constant source of inspiration to family and friends and to all that knew her. She had a deep, abiding faith in God and was always eager to help anyone in need or want. Kitty was an avid bird watcher and loved to spend time on her computer and snap photos as often as possible. She loved to correspond with family and friends on social media as often as possible. Kitty was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Effie Teague; her brother, Gale Teague; sister, Peggy Logan; and her infant son, Bradley Ivey. Kitty is survived by her husband, James Ivey; and their two sons; David Ivey and wife, Donna, and Andy Ivey; sister, Camilla Spruill; aunt, Malora Martin; and many nephews and nieces. She was so loved and will be missed by so many.
