Kim L. Smart

Kim L. Smart of Weatherford, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5th, 2025

Kim was born in Kendallville, Indiana on May 2, 1953, to John Richard Smart and Ruth Louise (Iddings) Smart. In 2019, Kim met the love of his life, Nancy Elaine Landrum, and they married in May of 2000. They had a very special love and were inseparable until May 14, 2020, when Nancy sadly passed away.

Kim was an amazing, caring and giving man who loved his family, golfing, fishing, cigars, and especially spending time with all of his friends at Lynn’s Saloon. He was active in the Azle VFW for many years, serving as President of the Men’s Auxiliary. Honoring and taking care of Veterans was extremely important to him.

Kim impacted many people’s lives throughout his short time with us, never meeting a stranger. There were so many who deeply loved him and he will be forever missed.

He is survived by two daughters, Brandy (Smart) Kidder (Eric), and Cori (Smart) Rheinheimer, both of Indiana; a step-daughter, Hilary (Smolek) Pacheco of El Paso Texas; his step-mother, Bonnie Smart of Sebring, Florida; a sister, Sherri (Peffley) Henley of Sebring, Florida; and three brothers, Kevin (Jenny) Smart of Biloxi Mississippi, Jay (Charlene) Smart of Kendallville, Indiana, and Steven (Cindy) Peffley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Meek, Nicholas Meek, and Kristen Meek, all of LaGrange, Indiana; and five great-grandchildren.
