Kevin Wesley Cockerline, 60, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his home. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022 in White’s Chapel of Memories. Kevin was born July 31, 1961 in Michigan, son of Alan W. and Ann Evans Cockerline. He graduated from Texas A & M in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Kevin was employed for 31 years at Standard Meats/Tyson Foods as a National Account Sales Director, followed by five years as National Account Sales Director at Five Star Custom Foods, retiring in 2019. Kevin loved his time on his ranch and it was a true passion for him. He loved the horses and he eventually turned to roping and raising cattle. Kevin had an entrepreneur spirit that allowed him to build a successful cattle ranch and related businesses. Kevin was an avid rodeo calf roping contestant, winning several belt buckles and a saddle. He built a lighted rodeo arena on the ranch so he and other cowboys could practice. So, although he was born in Michigan, he was a Texan through and through. Kevin had a dry sense of humor and a loud, larger than life personality. He was known for his deep fried turkeys every Thanksgiving, and for his summer pool parties. Kevin was always there for his family, they were his greatest love. We celebrate a life well lived but ended too soon. Survivors: Wife, Luz Cockerline; daughter, Kayla Whitney Cockerline; step-daughter, Liz Gonzales of New York City; sisters, Annette Locklear and husband, Mike, of Cameron, and Mary Cockerline and Roland Picard, of Niceville, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Minion.
