Kenny Lavaun Berry, 67 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. at Medical City in Weatherford.

Kenny was born in Bloomington, Illinois on February 7, 1957 to Arthur Berry and Francis Gibson. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1974 during the Vietnam War. Kenny was an incredibly skilled wood craftsman and cabinet maker. He could build just about anything. Kenny absolutely loved finding antiques and restoring them. He would frequently go to Goodwill, a.k.a. Neiman Marcus and find what he considered treasure. He also had an intense love for steak, pasta, and all things Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Berry; sister, Gail Swift; and son, Kenny Blankenship.

Survivors: Mother, Francis Gibson of Hoxie; brother, Wayne Gibson, Jr. of Hoxie and sister-in-law, Wendie Gibson; sisters, Judy Redman of Hoxie, Lynn Gibson of Weiner, and Kathy Parnell of Bryant; children, Stacie, Venus, Justin, Anthony, Bobby, Seth, Brandy, Charlie, and Anne; along with many amazing grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

All who knew him will always remember his overly starched denim jacket, denim jeans, and steel toe boots.

Those of us who knew him as Dad, all have the memory of him coming home and either saying, "Hey Girl" or "Hey Boy".

He was greatly loved and will be forever missed by us all, especially his "Grocery Snatchers".

"We Love You, Dad!"

The Last Goodbye

Song by Billy Boyd

I saw the light fade from the sky

On the wind I heard a sigh

As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers

I will say this last goodbye

Night is now falling

So ends this day

The road is now calling and I must away

Over hill and under tree

Through lands where never light has shown

By silver streams that run down to the sea

Under cloud, beneath the stars

Over snow and winter's morn

I turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me

I cannot tell

We came all this way

But now comes the day

To bid you farewell

Many places I have been

Many sorrows I have seen

But I don't regret

Nor will I forget

All who took that road with me

Night is now falling

So ends this day

The road is now calling and I must away

Over hill and under tree

Through lands where never light has shown

By silver streams that run down to the sea

To these memories I will hold

With your blessing I will go

To turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me

I cannot tell

We came all this way

But now comes the day

To bid you farewell

I bid you all a very fond farewell
