Kenneth “Grandpa” Brown went home to Jesus on Friday. January 7, 2022 at age 85. Service: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Ash Creek Baptist Church. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, January 10, 2022 at White’s Azle Funeral Home. Interment: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Acton Cemetery. Kenneth was born to Jake and Leona Brown on February 22, 1936. Music was always prevalent in the Brown’s home and even had a Brown Family Gospel quartet that travelled all over the Southern part of the US attending Southern Gospel Conventions. Kenneth met his wife of 55 years, Patsy Carlene Durant, at a Gospel ‘singing’ in Granbury and were married a year later on November 19, 1966. Kenneth and Pat both brought children to the marriage. Kenneth had a son and daughter, Kenneth Brown Jr. and Denise Robertson. Pat had 3 sons, Danny Thomas, Randy Thomas and Kenneth Thomas. After a year of marriage, they together had another son, Jake Brown. As an active member of Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle one of Kenneth’s proudest moments was when he was ordained as a Deacon. He continued to serve in that role until his passing. Kenneth spent over 40 years working in the furniture moving business before retiring after another 16 years as an Azle ISD bus driver. Many of his friends also know him as Coach Brown as he often volunteered to coach his son’s sports teams. In addition to the aforementioned family members, Kenneth was survived by 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
