Kay Sears, 73, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Fort Worth. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Soda Springs Cemetery, Millsap. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay’s memory to the children’s playground fund at the Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church, 2731 S. FM 129, Santo, Texas 76472. Kay was born October 30, 1947 in Weatherford, daughter of William Jeff “Speck” Barnes, Jr. & Norma Jean Ashley Barnes. She met and married the love of her life, Eddie John Sears on June 4, 1965. They were blessed with two children, Steven and Cindy, and spent 55 wonderful years together until Eddie passed on October 1, 2020. She loved quilting, but her greatest joy came from her time with family. Kay’s home was always open to anyone and everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Eddie John Sears. Survivors: Children, Steven J. Sears and wife, Paula, and Cindy Southern, all of Millsap; grandchildren, Steven L. Sears and wife, Lauren, of Granbury, and Corbett Southern of Millsap; and many extended family members and dear friends.
