Karen E. Vaughn

August 21, 1949 — September 28, 2025

Weatherford, Texas

Karen Elaine (Moore) Vaughn, 76, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Born in Dallas, Texas, Karen was the daughter of Walter and Jessie Moore.

Karen’s lifelong passion was doll making, a craft that allowed her to travel the world teaching and inspiring others. Alongside her artistry in dolls, she found joy in quilting, bead jewelry, and especially in the breeding and showing of her beloved Norwich Terriers. Among them, Maggie held the most special place in her heart. Karen also adored her faithful cat, Coco, who was always by her side.

Family was the center of Karen’s life, and she passed down a deep sense of connection, loyalty, and love to her children and grandchildren. To her brothers, she was not only a sister but a guiding light, and Kevin lovingly shares that she was “the best big sister anyone could ever have.”

Known for her honesty and strength, Karen could sweep your feet right out from under you with the truth—but just as quickly, she would be there to help dust you off and set you back on your path. Her presence was both grounding and uplifting, leaving a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Charlie Moore.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Steve Vaughn; her sons, Aaron (Tami) Vaughn, and Wes (Callie Henning) Vaughn; and her brothers, Bruce (Angie) Moore, and Kevin Moore. Karen was a proud grandmother to Cody (Cassidy) Vaughn, Alyssa Vaughn, Simon Henning, Jordyn Brock, Huntier Brock, Keara Vaughn, Major Vaughn, Saylor Henning, and Saxon Henning, and a loving great-grandmother to Aluna Vaughn-McCorry. She was also a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews, Christopher Moore, Jessica Moore, Bob Ray Vaughn, and Ronnie Ann Vaughn.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her.
