Karen Sue Turner-Fatout, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Weatherford. Visitation: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E I-20, Odessa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Karen’s name, to the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter Karen was born August 2, 1942 in Odessa, daughter of Wilburn F. and Josephine Louise (Maze) Turner. She was a graduate of Midland High School. Karen married Billy Carroll “Bill” Turner on June 22, 1963 in Midland. They would go on to spend nearly 37 years together until his passing in 2000. They were the proud parents of one daughter, Jill Turner Patterson, who was born December 1, 1964 in Abilene. Karen worked at the National Headquarters for Boy Scouts of America as Assistant to the Camping Buyers. She would go on to work many years in the insurance industry and retired in 2008. After Bill’s passing, Karen married Jerry Fatout in January of 2006. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bill Turner; and second husband, Jerry Fatout. Survivors include her daughter, Jill Patterson (David); her life partner, Larry Briley; Larry’s daughter, Jamie Cleveland (Bennie); their daughter, Ashlee Chavez (Chris); two sisters, Sally Walton (David), and Peggy Smith (Jimmy); numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
