Joyce Mae (Burleson) Anderson, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Weatherford. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Antioch Cemetery, Fairfield, Texas. Joyce was born November 25, 1944 in Daisy, Oklahoma, daughter of Emmett and Emma (Newkirk) Burleson. Joyce was a lover of the outdoors. She loved her plants and flowers, especially yellow roses. Even in her twilight years she enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the birds and the deer in the evening. She also had a love for shopping, and was a frequent patron of QVC. Over the years, her family enjoyed holidays with Joyce. She was especially known for her Broccoli Cheese Casserole and her famous Black Magic Cake. Joyce had a love for her family, but her first love was her Lord, Jesus Christ. Over the years she and her husband, Chester, enjoyed singing Gospel music together. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Lee Anderson; granddaughter-in-law, Samantha Bench; as well as 3 brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her sisters, Brenda Porter (Larry) and Mary Cockburn; step-children, Angie Hull (Lonny) of Haslet, Phyllis Bench of Ben Wheeler, and Dennis Anderson (Lori) of Georgetown; grandchildren, Justin Bench of Forney, Andrew Hull of Glen Allen, VA, Kristin Young (Matt) of Quinlan, Chad Nickols of Georgetown, Matthew Hull (Megan) of Haslet, and Blake Anderson of Georgetown; great-grandchildren, Keely Boyer, Kooper Young, Conner Bench, Grayson Bench, and Maggie Nell Hull; and a host of other extended family members and friends. Joyce has run her race, her course is now finished; and she is now at home with her Heavenly Father.
