Joyce Faye Hickey, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Mineral Wells. She was born on December 9, 1938 to the late Truman and Alice (Brown) Whitfield in Rotan, Texas. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 100 SW 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, Texas on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Burial Ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Joyce was best known for her quiet, caring, and gentle spirit and her dedication, love, and commitment to her family and friends. Her joy in life was caring for her home and family and maintaining a calm, clean, and orderly space where everyone could feel safe, loved, and nurtured. She loved reading and her daily Bible study and fellowship with the Lord. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, Texas. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Wilhite of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Pam Parkinson, and son-in-law, Nick Parkinson of Mineral Wells; Joyce was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her brother, Anthony Whitfield of Ft. Worth.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Richard Hickey; sisters, Mae Ellen Poet and Paula Lloyd; brother, Truman Dale Whitfield; stepdaughter, Sharon Keeton; stepson, Michael Hickey; and granddaughter, Danna Grisso. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the caregivers at Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehab and Solaris Hospice. Their loving care of Joyce and support of the family during her illness was a blessing.
