Joy Ladeen Meeks

Joy Ladeen Watson Meeks passed away at age 95 in Springtown, Texas on November 3, 2021. Joy was born on June 19, 1926 in Spur, Texas. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Legacy Church, 3591 E Hwy 199, Springtown. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at White’s Springtown Chapel, 401 N Main St., Springtown. Interment: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Azleland Cemetery, 850 Cardinal Road, Azle. She lived her life for the Lord and was ready to see him. She had been a prayer warrior for everyone in her life, and for some people that she didn’t even know. She was appropriately named Joy by her parents as she maintained a joyous outlook on life and always looked for the positive even in the toughest times. She married Leroy Meeks, Jr. on December 24, 1942 in Grapevine, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Addie Barrett and Jess Watson of Knox City, Texas; husband, Leroy; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Tammy Meeks; granddaughter, Shelly Meeks Reeves; and seven brothers and one sister. She is survived by a daughter, Murle Shelton; son, Jackie Meeks and wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Lajuan Perkins, Stacey Boykin, Summer Snow, Shawn Leath, Joshua Meeks, Kendra Schichtel, Christian Meeks, and Chandler Meeks; sixteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-granchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to Legacy Church in Springtown would be appreciated. She was loved and will be remembered by relatives and friends.
