Johnnie Jo (Ransberger) Weaver passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Springtown. Johnnie was born February 12, 1940 in Aubrey; daughter of John William and Myrtie Agnes (Harvey) Ransberger. She graduated from Birdville High School in 1958, and graduated from Texas Women’s University in 1962. She met the love of her life, George Tolbert Weaver, and they were married on July 24, 1964. They would go on to spend nearly 40 happy years together before his passing in 2004. She was an active member of Hilltop Family Church for many years. She was a published author and enjoyed going to her writers’ club meetings in Azle. She loved spending time with her family and singing. Her love for reading was her passion, and she loved reading books to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and wanted to instill that love in them. Johnnie was a teacher for her entire adult life. She spent over 30 years educating children. She enjoyed her work with children in elementary education and especially the Title One Reading program. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, George Tolbert Weaver. Survivors include her children, Jhanna Bogan (Jeff), and Greg Weaver (Becky); grandchildren, Kyle Bogan, Ryan Bogan (Suzanne), Jennifer Duff (Daniel), Charles Darnall (Stephanie), Sarah Johnson (John), Ireland Weaver, and Emily Weaver; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kylie, McKenzie, Maddie, Connor, Addison, Grace, Greyson, Trinity, and Jameson; brothers, Jim Ransberger, Jack Ransberger, Jeff Ransberger; sisters, Doris Jones, Jerrell Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other extended family members and friends. Johnnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and will be missed by all who knew her.
