It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of John Patrick Marusak, who departed this world on July 6, 2026, surrounded by the family he cherished so dearly.

Born on March 16, 1960, in the small town of Lakeside, Texas, John lived a life full of dedication, warmth, and love. John was the beloved son of the late Louis and Margaret Marusak.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Al and Ronnie, and his sister, Patricia. Despite these losses, he continued to be a pillar of strength and kindness to all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Marusak, with whom he shared a beautiful partnership for 50 years. Their journey together began with their marriage on April 11th where they made a home in Weatherford, Texas, a union that brought immense joy and fulfillment to both their lives. John was the proud father to his two daughters, Amanda (married to Brandon) and Kristian (married to Justin); and the doting Papa to two precious granddaughters, Emma-Lou and Estelle. His sister, Pamela Turner, and many extended family members also survive him, carrying a piece of his spirit and memory forward.

John's academic journey led him to the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geology and Engineering, a testament to his intellectual curiosity and passion for learning. His professional life was marked by dedication and excellence as he worked for many years as an engineer for the railroad before dedicating over 25 years of service to the City of Weatherford.

A man of simple joys, John found happiness in the great outdoors, tending to his yard, and relishing the beauty of family vacations in the Colorado mountains. Above all, he was a family man, deeply committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of his loved ones. His personal qualities of love, devotion, and integrity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honor of John's wishes, a private funeral service will be held at Azle Land Cemetery. The family takes comfort in the words of Psalm 23:6: "Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever."

John Patrick Marusak will be remembered as a man of unwavering love, quiet strength, and enduring legacy. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him, as he lives on in our hearts forever.
