John Donald Kirkpatrick

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00am Friday February 11, 2022 Saint Stephen Catholic Church Visitation: 6-8pm, Thursday February 10, White’s Funeral Home, Weatherford Rosary: 7:00pm Thursday John was born March 31, 1934 in Granbury, son of Frank and Sybil Albright Kirkpatrick. John moved to Weatherford when he was 6 years old. His family would then move to west Texas, where he lived until he was in the 5th grade. They would return to Weatherford, which became his home. John proudly served his country in the United States Army, and later in the National Guard. John began working for his father at Weatherford Parker County Abstract Title Company. Later he became a partner in the business and would go on to be known as an icon in the Title industry, and the authority on land ownership in Parker County. The partnership sold in 2001 to Stewart Title, and remains in operation today. He served on the Weatherford City Council, as a City Commissioner, and a very active member of the Parker County Bar Association. John worked hard, served his community, and was very generous. He will be remembered by all for his strong work ethic, and how he always had time for others. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to golf, hunt, fish, and enjoyed raising his cattle. Over the years, John was a mentor to many. Several individuals have expressed that they would not be the person, or professional that they are today without John’s guidance. He is preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Betty Samson; and brother, Warren Kirkpatrick. John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Roberta Kirkpatrick; children, Kimberly Kirkpatrick Thornton, and husband Phillip, John Russell Kirkpatrick, and wife Shawn, and Kip Kirkpatrick; grandson, Clay Hunter Kirkpatrick; brother, James Kirkpatrick; and a host of other family members and friends. Over the years, John touched many lives, he will be missed by all who knew him.
