John James Cogan

John James Cogan, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his home in Weatherford. 

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 AM Saturday, June 18, 2022 at St. Stephen Catholic Chapel, 211 South Main St., Weatherford.

 Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in John's memory to St. Stephen Catholic Church Building Fund.

 John was born December 23, 1946 in Blackwell, OK, son of Daniel and Lillian (Van Wyck) Cogan. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran, having proudly and bravely served his county on the USS Intrepid in the United States Navy. John lived in Austin for many years, where he was a 20-year employee of the University of Texas at Austin. Always interested in anything mechanical, John was an avid automobile fan. He greatly enjoyed Weatherford Trade Days, and enjoyed spending time with his family, and faithful dog, Stella. 

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane Joyce; and his beloved children, Cynthia and Jonathan.
