Joe Frederick McBride, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in Fort Worth, surrounded by his family. Joe was born August 9, 1935 in Port Neches, Texas, the second child of John L. and Olive Mae Gentz McBride. He accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man. Joe served his country honorably from 1954-1974 in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served two combat tours in Vietnam, receiving three Bronze Stars. Joe married Laura Mae Dougharty on February 17, 1956. He and Laura had 5 children. He is survived by Carey McBride and wife, Rhonda, Wade McBride and wife, Sandra, son-in-law, Dan Sanborn, Joseph McBride and wife, Simona, and Leanne McBride Kimberlin and husband, Robert. Joe has 7 grandchildren, Kaitlin Vander Linden, Amanda Farmer, Megan Brimijoin, Paul Sanborn, Jeffrey Sanborn, Ashton McBride, and Logan Kimberlin. He has 5 great-grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and many nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his wife Laura, who passed away on August 20, 2006 after 50 years and 6 months of marriage. They had a good life together raising their children and serving the Lord. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Sanborn, and brother, J. C. McBride. Joe married Wanda Geissler on September 27, 2008. Joe had, and enjoyed a good life, leaving behind a lot of good friends. He knew what was ahead of him, and gladly went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ. Interment: 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211. Donations to Santa Fe Baptist Church in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
