The Lord Jesus decided he needed to add Jo Ann Fannin to his heavenly kingdom on Saturday, July 21, 2018.Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, Texas 76086.Interment: Annetta Cemetery, Annetta.Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home.Jo Ann was a homebound member of the Union Baptist Church in Springtown. She was active in her service to the Lord for many years and in many ways. Jo Ann was the most creative woman I have ever met. She was born July 29, 1932 in Hamlin, Texas, moved to Abilene, Texas, where she began her career with Southwestern Bell as a Telephone Operator. She then moved to Midland where she retired in about 1992 from Southwestern Bell. We met her in Midland in 1995 and she moved in with us in Weatherford in 2003.Jo Ann will be missed by many.She was preceded in death by her Dad and Mom, Orbie and Ira Hood Fannin; one brother, I O Fannin; and three sisters, Iola Scurlock, Oleta Faught and Leota Striplin.She was survived by her adopted family of 23 years, children, Pastor William L. (Bill) and Kathy Strickland; grandsons and granddaughter, Kyle and Amber Strickland and Kerry Strickland; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kylah, Wesley and Journey Strickland, Dakota Harper and Hayvin Strickland; and many nieces and nephews.
