Jeannie Coleen Duncan Soo Mills of Weatherford, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:15 in the afternoon at the young age of 60. Visitation will be held at Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas on Wednesday, August 25 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, followed by her Going Home Celebration at 2:00 pm, also at Birchman Baptist Church. Her graveside service and interment will be immediately after at Memory Gardens in Weatherford, Texas. Jeannie was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on November 2, 1960 to Chester Carl Duncan Sr. and Frances Luella Duncan. She was married to Michael Judson Mills on June 14, 1980 in Adkins, Texas. She met him at age 14, they dated for 5 years and they married when she was 19. Michael and Jeannie were married for 41 years. Jeannie was a graduate of Judson High School. She attended Beauty School and was a talented hairdresser for her family and friends. Jeannie was a Pre-K teacher assistant at Trinity Christian Academy for more than 10 years where her children attended. She taught in the girl’s missions organization at Birchman Baptist Church for 5 years. Jeannie was a creative gardener who was recognized in her community. As a gifted homemaker, her natural talents for decorating were very visible when you stepped inside her home. She was an excellent cook, using her skills at both home and church. Jeannie loved God, had a servant heart and was a member of Birchman Baptist Church for over 35 years. She loved hosting many family gatherings. Jeannie was a devoted wife, an adored daughter and sister, a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her children and grandchildren. Much time was given to their care and delight. She was a faithful friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jeannie was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Carla Duncan; father, Chester Carl Duncan, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Fannie Bell Erwin; maternal grandfather, Woodrow Connor Erwin; paternal grandmother, Georgia Reona Duncan; paternal grandfather, Alva Lee Duncan; father-in-law, Rev. Judson Grady Mills; mother-in-law, Marjorie Iva Mills; granddaughter, Addison Carter; great niece, Abigail Grace Collis; and nephew, Jared Alan Grimes. Jeannie is survived by her husband, Michael Judson Mills of Weatherford; their three children, Brandon Mills and wife, Patricia of Peaster, Amanda Mills and husband, Brandon of Fort Worth and Caleb Mills of Saginaw; grandchildren, Sawyer Giesen, Sterling Mills and Shaden Mills all of Peaster; mother, Frances Luella Duncan Soo and husband, Alfred William Soo of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brother, Chester Duncan, Jr. of Anacoco, Louisiana; sister, Stephanie Soo-Caragliano and husband, Thomas of Gonzales, Louisiana; and sister, Jennifer Soo-Bourgeois and husband, Randall Bourgeois of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brother, Jonathan Soo and wife, Kerri Soo of Slidell, Louisiana; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Benny and Marilyn Rodgers of Azle, Sharon Cloud of Fort Worth, Richard and Sandy Grimes of Plano, Grady and Judy Summers of Hutto; many nieces and nephews, and a host of very dear friends. Jeannie will be missed by all that knew her.
