Jayne Peters, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells, surrounded by her family. Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel, 101 N. E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells. Jayne was born July 12, 1944 in Mineral Wells, daughter of Frank and Frances Estrada Vila. She was raised in Mineral Wells and attended school there. Jayne married Ed Peters on August 25, 1962 in Mineral Wells and they moved to Mashpee, Cape Cod, Massachusetts where they raised their family. Jayne worked as an Elevator Operator at the infamous Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pilgrim’s Pride Nursing Home in Massachusetts, a School Bus Driver in Sandwich, Massachusetts, and a Transit Authority Dispatcher, (B-Bus) Cape Transit. Jayne was a volunteer at the 4H Club, and at the Palo Pinto General Hospital. She played for the Cape Women’s Softball League in Mashpee, Massachusetts. Jayne enjoyed attending powwows with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Jayne loved her Mexican and Native music, as well as bird watching. Cardinals and hummingbirds were her favorites. Over the years, Jayne has touched many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her. Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Peters; parents, Frank and Frances Vila; sister, Linda Vila; and brother-in-law, Angel Candelario. She is survived by her children, Edward E. Peters and wife, Missy, Evelyn Fermino and husband, Scott, and Joanne Peters; grandchildren, Crystal Peters, T. J. Peters, Fawna Santiago and husband, Tony, Victoria Fermino, Abigail Booth, Iyano Fermino, and Daniel Booth, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Angel Peters, Riley Santiago, Emma Santiago, Cruz Santiago, Colton Peters, Harper Peters, and Raymond Peters; siblings, Mary Candelario, Gloria Vila and husband, David Simons, Lupe Williams, Frank Vila, Jr. and wife, Carmen, Paul Vila and wife, JoAnn, Ricky Vila and wife, Angelica, Teresa Garcia, Eugene Vila, Rosanna Burns and husband, Zedrick.
