Jaye Ann Rutherford

Jaye Ann Rutherford passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 1, 2024.

 Memorial Service:  11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Springtown Church of Christ.

Jaye was born on May 27, 1992 in Ft. Worth, daughter of Jerrell and Donna Rutherford. She grew up in Springtown where she had lots of fun and was adored by all who knew her. She was affectionately known as “Little Rut”. Following graduation, she moved to Austin to attend college. She made the decision to follow her true calling, so she went to cosmetology school and became a hair stylist. Her skill and love of color made her much sought-after, especially for fun hair. She made friends who she loved like family, including the love of her life, Kyle. They lived in Fort Worth and were together for over six years. They lovingly raised several rescued fur babies, most recently, Poe, Daisy, and Nessy.
Jaye was fiery (like her hair), vivacious, and one of the kindest souls in the world. She often said, “I do what I want!” and she did. She made the decision to be an organ donor many years ago. Because of this, Jaye will live on in countless others. 
 
She was preceded in death by her dear Grandy, Mutt Cockburn.
 
She is survived by fiance, Kyle; parents, Jerrell and Donna; sister, Jill; grandparents, Judy and Skid Skidmore, and Mary Cockburn; and countless family and friends. 
 
She left this world way too soon. Her passing will leave a hole in all our hearts. We will strive to be the shining light she always was.
