Jason Russell, age 45, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2024. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jason was the beloved husband of Keri Russell and the loving father of Elle and Kate. He graduated from Putnam City High School and furthered his education at Oklahoma State University, where he was an Oklahoma State football offensive lineman and team captain. He led the team in many upsets and accomplishments. Jason was a dedicated welding instructor and department chair at Tarrant County College. He was passionate about his work and touched the lives of many students throughout his career. Jason was a man who could turn any ordinary moment into an extraordinary one. Humble and kind, he leaves behind a legacy of laughter, mentorship, and cherished memories. He was a true master of finding joy in the simplest things. He had an infectious laugh and a knack for making everyone around him feel comfortable and welcome. Whether it was a casual gathering or a special occasion, he possessed an uncanny ability to inject humor and lightheartedness into every situation, leaving smiles in his wake. Jason could make light of any situation. He was a man you could be imperfect around and he would find a way to laugh with you about those imperfections. Beyond his jovial spirit, Jason was a dedicated mentor and encourager. He generously shared his knowledge and experience, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer insightful advice. His unwavering support and genuine interest in others empowered countless individuals to reach their full potential. “J-Russ” was an incredible friend, teammate, coach, and teacher. If you knew him, you loved him. Jason taught everyone around him to love every moment they had together. His love for his family knew no bounds, and whenever they needed him, he was there, dropping everything to be present and share in their lives. He built a life for his wife and daughters where love and support were the cornerstones, ensuring their happiness was always his guiding light. His legacy of love will live on. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 3:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church, 910 N Main St, Weatherford, TX 76086. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the OSU Foundation to provide scholarships for kids who would like to attend Oklahoma State Cowboy Football Camp. Jason is survived by loving wife, Keri Russell; daughters, Elle and Kate; his sister, Tiffani Perry, brother-in-law, Darren Perry and niece and nephew, Holli Perry and Noah Perry. As well as father-in-law and mother in-law, Barry and Christy Paulson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ryan and Rachel Paulson. Jason is preceded in death by his parent, Jim and Judy Russell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
