Janelle Kay Johnson

Janelle K. (Carter) Johnson, 72, entered her heavenly home on Monday evening, September 30, 2024, at her home in Azle, TX.

Graveside Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, October 14, 2024 at Ash Creek Cemetery.

 Jan was born June 26, 1952, and was the daughter of W.A. & Nell Carter, granddaughter of Atlas & Beatrice Carter of Azle. She cared deeply for her family heritage and Azle community. Mrs. Johnson was a well-loved math teacher at AHS. Her students remember her fondly, and many have credited her with their love for learning. They also say how she made them feel cared for. She led the PALs group and coordinated the Angel Tree ministry for many years. Jan loved to paint, sew, tend her plants, and spend quality time with her loved ones. The role she treasured most was that of Grandma and Mom. 

 She is survived by her caring husband, Billy of 54 years; daughters, Keri Armentrout & Kacee Perez; seven grandchildren, and a host of devoted family and friends.
