James Wilson Shafer, 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his home in Springtown. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Faith Baptist Fellowship, 1411 Carter Rd., Springtown. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Faith Baptist Fellowship. He was a long-time faithful member of Faith Baptist Fellowship, which he also helped build. Woodworking was his joy, he also enjoyed camping but his first loves were God and his family. Service was his gift to God. James was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Beloved wife, Glenda Shafer; daughters, Carla Laska and husband, James, and Jennifer Elliott and husband, William; son, Richard Shafer and wife, Kelli; grandchildren, Kyle Laska and wife, Annika, Kelsey Hackl and husband, Luke, Garrett Gibson, Presley Gibson, and Samantha Shafer; great-grandchildren, Jensen, Cade, and Blakely; sister, Delores Emerson; and a host of extended family and friends. His legacy of being a Christ follower is reflected in his children and grandchildren.
