James R Phillips

James Ronald Phillips, 80, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Weatherford, TX.

He was born October 17, 1945 in Weatherford, TX to Samuel Lanham Phillips and Lois Iva Erwin.

James worked in Real Estate for most of his life and he enjoyed driving all over looking at the land, livestock and crops.

Friends will remember James as a man of few words, who never hesitated to do the right thing.

He loved animals, and would readily make friends with just about any dog. His grandchildren remember him helping them catch grasshoppers and teaching them about the world and the animals that lived in it.

He is preceded in death by his father Samuel, his mother Lois, and his siblings Sam, Bill, and Melba. 

James is survived by his wife Kathy, their daughter Kelley and her husband Scott, his grandchildren Cameron and his wife Kami, Chloe and Cager, as well as his sisters Rubye and her husband Gene, his sister Wanda, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a private memorial service.
