James Joseph "Jim" Kram

James J. Kram, known to family and friends as Jim, 80, of Weatherford, Texas, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 3, 2026.

Service: A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, designated for the prayer garden.

Jim was born on July 25, 1945, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to the late Ferdinand J. Kram and Agnes M. Kram (Domann). He graduated from St. Benedict's College in Atchison, Kansas, in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. On October 18, 1969, he married Mary Wade of Plainfield, Wisconsin, beginning a marriage and partnership that would span more than five decades.

Jim built a long and dedicated career in public service. He worked as an auditor and audit manager with the U.S. Department of the Inspector General from 1967 to 1998, as a financial manager with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 1998 to 2000, and as an audit manager and construction general manager with the Fort Worth Independent School District from 2001 to 2013.

Outside of work, Jim cherished time spent with family and friends, and he found joy in traveling and gardening.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Agnes Kram, and his sister, Ann Kram.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kram; his siblings Frank Kram, John Kram, and Mary Lindeman; his daughter Caren Guajardo and her husband Paul; his daughter Colleen Vise and her husband Kevin; his son Aric Kram and his wife Mindy; six grandchildren, Steven Kenney and wife Kieran, Mary Kenney, Katie Stevens and husband Kade, Rachel Kram, Gabrielle and Micah Guajardo; and two great-grandsons, Wesley and Braker Stevens.
