To Live Stream Service Click Here Ivy Delano McMillan, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, of Gordon, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 85 years of age. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at White’s Funeral Home, Mineral Wells. Interment: Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, at New Gordon Cemetery, Mineral Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Harley McMillan and Mildred Annice Stribling McMillan; brother, Harold Dean Hollingsworth; sisters, Samue Piety, and Ruvee Dempsey; son-in-law, Bill May; and daughter-in-law, Lindsey Moon. Ivy was born in Grand Saline, Texas on September 7, 1937 and was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, Texas in 1957. He attended Tarrant County Junior College where he received an Associate Degree in History. In 1957, Ivy began military service for his country in the United States Air Force until 1961. He then began his career as a paint contractor in which he ran a successful business for the majority of his professional life. In 1982, he began a new endeavor with Williamson-Dickie Work Wear & Apparel where he was the proud keeper of Big Tex’s famous attire. He retired to Lake Palo Pinto in 2002 where he lived the remainder of his life with his wife, Linda. On July 12, 1978, Ivy married his beloved wife, Linda Thweatt McMillan and created a new, blended family whom he cherished greatly. Ivy was known for his love of God, family, and fishing. He had a humorous and outgoing personality that never allowed him to meet a stranger. He was considered by many as a prayer warrior who shared his love of Christ with everyone he met. Ivy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Thweatt McMillan; children, Rebecca Gillette and husband David, Darla Fuller, Alison Good and husband James, Mike Moon, Michele Tomchik and husband Eric, Melinda Marquez, Mark Moon and wife Diane; and a “quiver full” (Psalm 127:3-5) of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
