HL "Boots Box

Howard Lee “Boots” Box, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 14, 2020, in Springtown, Texas, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born August 14, 1934, in Randolph, Texas, to Author Box and Nellie Prince Box. Visitation, Thursday, December 17, 2020, 6-8 PM, White’s Funeral Chapel, Springtown, Texas Graveside Friday, December 18, 2020, 10 AM, Jaybird Cemetery He was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Nellie Box. Boots was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend to many. He was married to Imogene for 69 years. She got off the bus the first day he saw her and told his momma that he was going to marry her! And, he did! And, what a wonderful life they have had. As they say, “life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” He was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church (Formerly LaJunta Baptist). He was an amazing storyteller. He would use every bit of his being to tell his stories about fishing, hunting, play daying and farming. His eyes would close as he relived every moment as he told about those memories, and he made whoever was listening feel as if they, too, were there with him. He owned and operated H. L. Box Feed Store with his dad. Boots loved his family fervently. He told Imogene they had the perfect family. He is survived by his wife, Imogene Box, daughter and husband, Sharon and Allen Chesney, grandsons Kelly Chesney and wife Holly, Kiley Chesney and wife Tara; great-grandchildren Kaleb Chesney and wife, Bailey, Camden Chesney and Kelsie Chesney; great-great granddaughter Kinsyn Chesney; and extended family Louis Witt, Allen Witt and Carolyn Witt; numerous nieces and nephews.
