Henry Houston Hook

MILLSAP - On April 15, 2021, at the age of 93, Henry Houston Hook went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Service: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Dennis First Baptist Church. Interment: Smith Springs Cemetery in Erath County, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at White’s Chapel of Memories, Weatherford. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation for Soda Springs Baptist Church (1801 Soda Springs Rd., Millsap 76066), Brock FFA Program (400 Eagle Spirit Ln., Brock 76087), and Dennis First Baptist Church (P.O. Box 160, Dennis 76439). Houston was born on August 10, 1927 in Erath County to the late William Lonzo and Maggie Laura Huxford Hook. He graduated from Stephenville High School and received his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University in agriculture education. He also attended Tarleton State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Houston was ordained into the ministry on November 13, 1949 by the Priddy Baptist Church in Priddy, Texas. On August 26, 1948, Houston married the love of his life, Mamie Louise Hamilton in Stephenville, Texas. They shared 72 wonderful years together living and serving others in Parker County. Houston was bi-vocational. He served as a Pastor in Parker County for a total of 52 years in three churches, started the FFA Program at Brock High School in 1950 where he served as an Agriculture Teacher and was a founding member of the Parker County Livestock Association. Houston loved the outdoors while hunting, fishing, farming and raising cattle on the Haywire Herford Farm. Henry Houston Hook left his mark on this world and all eternity as a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Houston was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Bramlett and Mavis Waddle; brothers, Robert W. Hook and E. Preston Hook. He is survived by his wife, Louise; twin sons: Jim & Colleen Hook, Johnny & Billie Hook; three grandchildren, Jody & Joe Hook, Randi & Brandon Brackney, Kallie & Josh Hare; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Hook, Breeanna, Sawyer & Riggs Brackney, Hagen & Hayes Hare; sister-in-law, Wanda Hook and many nieces and nephews.
