Helen Sue Weddle, age 94, passed away on Thursday, September 14th 2023, at her home in Fort Worth surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Anson, TX and raised all over the state, finally landing in Arlington, TX. She received her GED and then attended Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) school at Arlington Memorial Hospital circa 1969-1970. She married the love of her life on July 23, 1946. Her first job was as a switchboard operator. When she married in 1946 she became a homemaker. She held this position for the rest of her life, although she also became an LVN around 1970-1971. She was an LVN for 45 years, spent mostly in geriatric nursing (nursing homes) but also as a home health nurse and a short time as a hospice nurse. After retiring from nursing she continued her work in nursing homes as a volunteer ombudsman (patient advocate) for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for many years. Helen was a voracious reader and instilled that love in all her children. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafts. Over the years, Helen Sue touched many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her. Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years James Clark Weddle, Jr., infant daughter Martha Jean Weddle, son James Donald Weddle and daughter-in-law Naomi Weddle, parents Donald Leonard Reese and Veo Hutchins Reese, sisters Linnie Faye Snider and Joyce Parker and brother Charles Reese, She is survived by her son Clark Leonard Weddle, daughters Leah Hawkins and Callie S. Davis, grandchildren Sarah Mangrum (Chad), Ruth Moretz (James), Miranda Hawkins and Benjamin Hawkins, great-grandchildren Coraline, Aubree and Kylie Moretz, her brother Donnie Reese and sister Sherry.
