Helen Conwell Short, 77, Christian, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend, mighty prayer warrior, lifelong resident of Azle and a lifetime member of Ash Creek Baptist Church, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 S. Stewart Street, Azle, 76020. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ash Creek Baptist Church. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Ash Creek Baptist Church. Helen was born January 22, 1941 to Carl and Martha Conwell in Azle. She graduated from Azle High School in 1959. She then graduated from Decatur Baptist College with an Associate's Degree and then received her Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech College of Business Administration. She also graduated from The Louisiana Banking School as well as the University of Wisconsin School for Bank Administration. She had a successful career working at many banks, including Azle Bank, Northwest Bank, Haltom City Bank, M. Bank East, and Bank One in Downtown Fort Worth. She was self-employed and President of Training Consultants Inc. and assisted many banks in 25 states over many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Celia Pyle. Survivors: husband of 38 years, Leon Short; children, Celia Crist and husband, Larry, Debbie Barton, Terri Bullard and husband, Jim, and Kenny Short and wife, Stacie; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Davis; brother, Claude Conwell and wife, Susan; brother-in-law, David Pyle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and a loving church family.
