Hazel Helen Florine Campbell Hughett

Hazel Helen Hughett was born Nov. 8, 1932 and died on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 at the age of 88 in Fort Worth, TX after a lengthy illness. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. She was born to C.F. & Minnie (Walker) Campbell in Weatherford. Hazel was the tenth of eleven children. She attended school in Weatherford and was one of the first to graduate as a nurse in the program at Campbell Memorial Hospital. Hazel proudly served her patients and community at Campbell and various nursing homes in the area. Joining Bill Hughett in marriage in 1953, they would go on to raise 4 children – Diane, Billy, Robin and Anthony – that she loved and raised to the best of her ability. They were happily married for 43 years until Bill’s death in 1996. Hazel was a loving, determined, intelligent, hardworking, stubborn, loyal and fiercely independent woman. In her leisure time she could be found at First Monday, fishing, playing 42, working crossword puzzles or reading science fiction novels. Many days were spent on her front porch watching her beloved hummingbirds or simply watching the world go by! Those left to cherish her memory and amazing laugh include: Son, Billy Hughett and wife, Marlene, of Springtown; daughter, Robin Hughett and partner, Cassie, of Azle; son, Anthony Hughett and wife, Jana, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Billy, Kelly, Amber, Cyrus, Wyatt and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Dean and Lyrik. Her like will never pass this way again.
