Harold O'Dell Meeker

Harold O’dell Meeker, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home in Weatherford. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. on Wednesday at North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main St., Weatherford 76086. Interment: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Asbury Cemetery in Tolar Visitation: 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Harold O’dell Meeker was born April 11, 1924 in Granbury , son of David & Mattie Dunn Meeker. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. Harold was the youngest Marine Corps Fighter Pilot in the South Pacific during WWII. Harold met Elwanda Warren, they fell in love and were married in 1948, spending nearly 70 happy years together prior to her passing in 2018. Harold left the military to pursue his calling as a minister and he spent 40 years serving God, joyfully fulfilling His will. Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elwanda Warren Meeker. Survivors: Children, Jack Meeker and wife, Jeanny, Danny Meeker, Lynnette Meeker, J. D. Meeker and wife, Lady B; daughter-in-law, Laurie Meeker; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members, church family and friends.
