Grace Lorene Darnell

Grace Lorene Anderson Darnell passed away in Fort Worth, Texas on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the age of 100 years and 7 months.Funeral Service:  11 a.m. Friday in White's Mineral Wells Chapel, 101 N. E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, 76067.Interment:  Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford, 76088.Visitation:  5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wells.Grace was born in Dawsonville, Georgia on December 15, 1916 to her parents, Susan Evie Crane and Paul Burt Anderson.  She grew up in rural Georgia and lived through the Great Depression.  After her father passed away when she was 9 years old, Grace went to work to support her mother and siblings.  Her hard work, strength, determination and great love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren led to her long life.  She frequently said "My kids were my life".She was preceded in death by Howard Young Darnell, her husband of 70 years; her wonderful daughter-in-law, Patricia Sue Hill Darnell; her grandson, Christopher Howard Darnell; her parents; and all of her siblings.Grace is survived by her six children, Betty Mayerchak of Aledo, Texas, Paul Darnell of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Linda Scarbrough of Denver, Colorado, David Darnell of Denver, Colorado, Dianne Morrison of Fort Worth, Texas, and Debbie Cooper of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Services are in care of White's Funeral Home, Mineral Wells.
