Grace Larue Clayton

Grace Larue Clayton, 101, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, November 17, 2025 in Weatherford, Texas.

Grace was born July 23, 1924 in Chico, Texas, beloved daughter of Charles and Emma (Guffin) Meek. She graduated from Chico High School in 1941. She loved to garden, play volleyball, square dance and play "42". Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was an active longtime member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico, Texas.

She will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; husbands, Donald Lasiter, and Reno Clayton; and one grandson, Jeremy Young.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Holt and spouse, Fred of Weatherford, and Cindy Willis and spouse, Donald of Ponder; and son, Tom Lasiter and spouse, John Trevino of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside Celebration of Life will be at a later date at Chico Cemetery in Chico, Texas.
