Gloria Fay Culp

July 1, 1927 - December 24, 2025

Her given names ranged from Puddin’ to Gloria and finally Gowie. Her last names Bradshaw, Austin and Culp. She is survived by her son Marc Austin and wife Anna Marie, Daughter Tina Schmidt and husband Dan, son Brett Austin and wife Lana; grandchildren Landon Austin and his wife Olivia, Dani Ramirez and husband Jordan, Isaac Austin, John Austin and Ella Austin, grandchildren Stella Ramirez, Stratton Ramirez and Summit Ramirez.

Gloria Fay Bradshaw was born to Ada Kay and Halford Calford Bradshaw on July 1, 1927 in Hope Arkansas. Her older brother, Murry Trotty Bradshaw, who quickly renamed himself Jack, was two years older. Gloria was soon called Puddin’ and often went to school early to play basketball before classes started. When brother Jack left to fight in WW2 he kissed his girlfriend goodbye who ended up being Bill Clinton’s mother. Bullet dodged as returning from the war, Jack, wised up and married Ruby and Uncle Jack and Aunt Ruby remained married until their deaths. As a teenager during the war Puddin rolled bandages for wounded soldiers. After moving to Beaumont, a young man saw her getting on her bus to work. Smitten, Hillard Austin, pulled in front of the bus making it stop so he could meet Puddin. Hillard and Gloria were married and lived in Beaumont for 25 years and Gloria gave birth to Marc, Tina and Brett.

After Hillard left, Gloria was alone for 10 years then gets introduced to Nolan Culp. They marry and Gloria moves to Corpus Christi. While Hillard was unpredictable, crazy and fun Nolan was solid, dependable and safe and was a successful restaurant owner. After Nolan lost a valiant effort against cancer, Gloria operates his restaurant successfully for about 5 years. She eventually moves to the ranch they bought together along with her mother, mom Bradshaw. After mom Bradshaw passes away Gloria sells the ranch and moves to Dallas to be close to her 3 kids and especially her grandchildren, Landon and Dani. Gloria is then called Gowie, her grandmother name. Gowie survives several bouts with cancer. Being as tough as leather, Gowie lives to know and love her next three grandchildren, Isaac, John and Ella and even her great grandchildren, Stella, Stratton and Summit.

Gowie loved her little house in north Dallas. It was close to Marc and Anna. Soon Tina and her husband Dan, better known as kicker moved close by too. Gowie loves on everyone for decades. In her late nineties, her body is worn out. Too old for knee and hip replacement surgery she just trucks on. Finally, not being able to fully take care of herself, Tina and Dan step in. Dan and Tina serve Gowie so that she can stay in the little home she loves so much. Except for a few months, Gowie stays in her home. Her mind and body give up at 98. Her speaking to neighbors, grocery store workers and gas station employees about the goodness of Christ will have to be done by somebody else. On December 24, 2025 her precious Lord Jesus comes and takes her home. She was a bit irritated it took him so long but she never doubted his goodness or faithfulness. Gowie was a lovely wife, mother and friend. Maybe the best cook of her generation. Except for Christ, her prize possession was her family who she put first every day of her life day.
