Glen Edwin Riley

Glen Edwin Riley, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. Graveside Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Aledo Brown Cemetery. Visitation: 8 AM – 12 PM, Tuesday at White’s Funeral Home, Weatherford. Glen was born in Aledo, Texas on October 8, 1927. As a boy, he grew up on a ranch and learned farming and ranching. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17. He married Betty Lou Whitmire at Camp Lejeune, NC on May 27, 1946. After the war and completing his college degree, he worked as a carpenter, teacher, insurance underwriter, businessman, and volunteer. He was a lifelong gardener and always a cowboy at heart. Glen lived in Garland from 1954 until retiring to Weatherford in 1983. In March 2018, he moved to an assisted living community in Garland to be near his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bun and Carmen Riley; his wife of 64 years, Betty Lou Riley; and grandson, Larsen Stubblefield. Survivors: Daughter, Sheila Stubblefield and husband, Jens; son, Dwight Riley; grandson, Neil Stubblefield and wife, Sherry; and great-grandchildren, Serena, Sahara, and Dwight “DJ”.
