In loving memory of Gladys Irene Mashburn, who peacefully gained her wings at the age of 87 on Sunday, January, 21, 2024, in Aledo, surrounded by her devoted family. Born November 30, 1936, in Canton, Georgia, she later made Texas her home, where she lovingly raised her four children. Gladys dedicated her professional years as a cashier at Modern Rexall Drugs and later became the heart of her family, devoting herself to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Momma Mashburn” to the Panther Boy’s Club kids, she was a beacon of love. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and soon-to-be great-great-grandmother, Gladys found joy in solving daily crossword puzzles, watching television game shows, and passionately supporting her favorite sports teams. Her selflessness was evident in every moment she spent with her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie “Catfish” Clifford and Bessie Ray; her baby sister, Clara Clemmie; sister, Sarah Setser; brother-in-law, Amberson Setser; brother, William Ray; and one nephew and one niece. Survived by her sister, Betty and brother-in-law, Wayne Gazoway, Gladys is remembered fondly by her sons, Monty Chris Mashburn and wife, Eileen, Joel Mashburn and wife, Shirley, and Kevin Mashburn and wife, Betty; and daughter, Lisa Mashburn - Esparza and husband, Andrew. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, and a host of extended family. Gladys leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished. May the influence of this extraordinary woman endure in our hearts, and may she rest beautifully in eternal peace.
