Gladys Rose Gerrard, 79, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018.Graveside Service:  10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.Memorial Service:  2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, Texas  76086.Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Freedom House, 1149 Fort Worth Highway, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Gladys was born January 13, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas to Menard Lee and Jenni Bell Smith Holcomb. She worked for Bell Helicopter for approximately 15 years. She also worked for HUD for around 20 years. Gladys retired from the United States Navy after 20 years. She volunteered at Freedom House and REACT team in Weatherford. Gladys acquired her college degree on July 19, 1997 while at Naval Air Station in Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, LeeRoy Holcomb, Alvin Holcomb, Alvin Hord, Jack Hord, Altha Barnett, Bernice Henry, and Betty Linthicum. Survivors: Son, Lee Newman; and sister, Edith Linthicum.
