Gladys Imigene Acree

Imigene Acree passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, October 19, 2020, with a daughter by her side and the deep love of all of her family with her in spirit. 

Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2020

 Interment: Azleland Cemetery 

Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.

 She was born Gladys Imigene Bolin in Newton County, Arkansas on May 11, 1929 the first of ten children of Lawrence Bolin and Mollie Lee Surber Bolin. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Woodie Acree; her parents; daughter, Donna Gail Dines; son, Joel Acree; brothers, Willard Bolin, William “Bo” Bolin, Wilvin Bolin; sisters, Loretta Hill, Irene Scott and Mildred Gabbard; and sons-in-law, Donald Mathes and James Phipps.

 Survivors: Brothers, Wilburn “Bill” Bolin and Troy Bolin; sister, Janice Rhoades; daughters, Faye Murphree and husband, David, Leanne Browning, Darlene Acree, Deana Mathes and Robbie Jones and husband, Stephen; grandsons, Brent Murphree, Kevin Higgins, Russell Higgins, Casey Mathes, Brad Mathes, and Zachary Phillips; nine granddaughters, Victoria Mann, Tara Koch, Jill Gatlin, Gayla Crutcher, LaCresha Willingham, Crystal Stouffer, Shala MacPherson, Elaina Phillips and Laura Beth Phillips; 29 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 24 nieces and nephews; friends of 65 years, Luella Shearer, Jo Elliott Harris and Sue Dunn Turnipseed; and a host of other friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

 Through her whole life, she was hard-working and dedicated to whatever task that was put before her. During her long life, she worked as night manager at Dairy Queen in Azle and many people currently in the their 60’s remember “Momma Gene” from when they were teenagers; she also worked for many years at Azle Manor Nursing Home, and kept the bed-babies and toddlers at Ash Creek Baptist Church during Sunday worship services. She was loved by the very young and those of advanced age, and those in between who came to know her. 

She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family unconditionally; and she set a wonderful example through her dedication to our Lord. Her whole family grieves, but she will be held close in our hearts and memories.
