She grew up in East Williston, NY and attended Wagner College and had many fond memories of spending summers on Fire Island. Geri was a champion for all students; especially for students with special learning needs and disabilities. She began her teaching career in Prince George’s County in Maryland. Geri was a special education teacher at Crockett Elementary and the diagnostician at Weatherford High School for several years. She was the Special Education Director for Weatherford ISD until she retired. After retirement, because of her outstanding reputation and expertise, Geri became a consultant for the Texas Education Agency working with numerous Texas School Districts, coaching, mentoring and teaching campus personnel. After TEA, Geri was a consultant with White Settlement ISD and Arlington ISD where she developed outstanding educational plans for students in need of extra support and intervention. She was a highly respected and remarkable educator. Geri enjoyed traveling, spending time in Louisiana with family, and was so fortunate to have so many dear friends. The stories of “The Wild Women” outings and special times with the “widows and orphans” were not to be missed. Geri was the consummate planner, party thrower, and had the most contagious laugh.
