Gary Wilford Lewis of White Settlement, TX passed away on August 31, 2021 at the age of 77 after battling Covid-19. Graveside service:10:00 A.M. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Annetta Cemetery. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be sent to Whites Funeral home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, TX 76086. Gary was born on November 5, 1943 to Wilford and Addie Lewis at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. After graduating from Brewer High School in 1962, he went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. After his time as a mail-carrier, Gary drove a school bus for White Settlement Independent School District for 6 years, and for the Senior Citizens Center for the City of White Settlement for 15 years where he made many life long friends. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Wilford L. Lewis, and his mother, Addie Grace Lewis, and brother, Darrell Lewis. Gary is survived by his wife, Jennilu (Scottie) Lewis; sons, Hayden Lee Lewis and Gary Paul Lewis; daughter, DeeAnn West and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Hayden Jr., Harrison and Mary Grace Lewis, Heather King, Damon West, Malyssa West and fiance, Josh Wentz, Cheyenne West and fiance, John David Hoover; great-grandchildren, Julia Ann Hoover, Dakota Lynn Hoover, Micheal Helgeson, Samantha Cargill; sisters, Geneane Martin and Shelly Rachel Hedgpeth, and numerous others including nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Gary was a devoted husband and father, and was very active within his church and community. He was a spiritual man that loved gospel music, and loved his family deeply. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him, but his legacy will live on through all of the hearts and minds he touched through out his life.
