Frances Carron “Nana” (Epps) Zuniga, 79, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at her home in Weatherford, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation: 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Saint Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Rd., Weatherford, TX 76086, with a Rosary at 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial: 11.a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Saint Stephen Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held following the Mass in the Parish Hall. Carron was born December 6, 1943 in Childress, daughter of John Murphy and Cassie Inez (Graham) Epps. She met the love of her life, Pete Zuniga, and they were married on September 7, 1962. They would go on to spend nearly 61 happy years together. Carron was an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel and to try new things. From white-water rafting to traveling, or even winning a dance contest in Las Vegas with her husband, Pete, she was always up to try new things. Carron enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays. She had an infectious laugh, and is remembered for being silly, even up to the end. While she had many interests in life, her first love was her family. Her most cherished title in life was that of “Nana.” She was not only Nana to her own family, but to many who were accepted as part of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ruthie Epps. Survivors include her loving husband, Pete Zuniga; children, John Zuniga (Amanda), Susan Calhoun (Jimmy), and Cassie Hein (Nick); grandchildren, Carlyn O’Dell, Caleb Zuniga, Cameron Zuniga, Jeremy Calhoun, Joseph Calhoun, Sarah Calhoun, Johnathan Latham, Timothy Latham, Peter Latham, Gabbie Hein, Sydney Hein, and Claire Hein; great-grandchildren, Bayne Croft, Louden Croft, Sara Calhoun, Lindzie Calhoun, Addison Calhoun, and Sawyer Calhoun; sister, Linda Faye Mladek; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
