Eula Jo Pankey

Eula Jo (Jody) Pankey, 93, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Monday, June 23, 2025, in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home, 101 N.E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas.

Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel, 101 N.E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas.

Interment: Following the service at Brock Cemetery, Brock, Texas.

She was born July 25, 1931 in Parker County, Texas, daughter of the late Ephriam and Ruby (Cox) Thomas. She worked as a secretary for many years and retired from Perry Equipment in Mineral Wells, Texas. She was a devout member of the Lipan Church of Christ. She served and loved the Lord with all her heart, teaching Sunday school for many years. Many students reported she was the best Sunday school teacher they ever had.

She enjoyed the outdoors and was frequently found working on a new gardening project in her yard.

Jody loved yearly family vacations, with her greatest joy coming from God and her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Long; grandchildren, Brandie Childers, and Doug Long; father, Ephriam Thomas; mother, Ruby (Cox) Thomas; sister, Alena Bell.

Survivors include husband, James Pankey; son, Danny Long, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Long; daughter, Donna Garvin, and son-in-law, Billy Garvin; grandchildren, Paula Chalker and husband, Courtney, Jimmy Long, and wife, Melody; great-grandchildren, Keith Chalker and wife, Callie, Sonny Chalker and Kaleb Chalker, Kelsey Parker, Kylie Short, David Ross and Addie Ross; great great-grandchildren, Grady and Ryan Chalker.
