Eugene Lloyd Creal of Weatherford, Texas passed peacefully into eternity with Christ on Saturday, February 7, 2026. He was surrounded by his devoted wife and family.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Hudson Oaks, Texas on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to send a donation in memory of Eugene to Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada (prbi.edu).
Eugene was born September 14, 1938 in Appleton, Wisconsin and was adopted at age 6 by Eugene and Nettie Creal. The family moved to California and then settled near Mayville, New York. Eugene graduated from high school in Mayville, New York, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Carol Louise Van Atter. They were married for 64 years.
After attending college in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada at Prairie Bible Institute, Eugene enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 3 years and earned the rank of sergeant.
Eugene spent his career working as a pastor in the Baptist General Convention. He pastored churches in Struthers, Ohio; Royal Oak, Michigan; Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada and Nanton, Alberta, Canada. He also lived in Calgary, Alberta: Stouffville, Goodwood, Bond Head and Barrie, Ontario.
Eugene also served in leadership at Bear Lake Bible Camp north of Grande Prairie, Alberta and was on staff at Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada. While at PRBI, we served as registrar, taught several classes and travelled with student music groups. He was an excellent trumpet player and speaker. Eugene was always happy, helpful and committed to the Lord in all he did.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Carol Creal; son, Daniel and his wife, Carolyn, and son, Jonathan; and granddaughters, Savanna, Alexandra, Audrey, and Victoria.
